Responsibilities
• Develop, support, and maintain trading infrastructure systems mostly in C++
• Understand at the highest levels tick data dissemination and protocol communication with world-class electronic exchanges
• Build or improve software for simulation, back-office, and post-trade evaluation
• Provide support for emergency situations, execute planned changes and deploy projects, including advanced profiling and troubleshooting of performance issues
• Contribute to tools and systems to fully automate the provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of multiple servers
• Interact with both trading and core development teams on a regular basis
• Research and implement enhancements to our infrastructure systems as well as automation and monitoring
• Take ownership of and lead projects from start to finish including design, roll out, and testing
• Build tools to support real-time trading operations by automating tasks to reduce complexity and human involvement in critical systems
Qualifications
• 3+ years of development experience
• Bachelor’s, Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field
• Strong programming skills in C++ in the Linux environment
• Ability to conceptualize and understand complex systems with many dependencies and moving parts
• Experience with scripting languages and automation tools
• Passion for testing and evaluating programming and workflow correctness
• Experience in finding errors in code and great debugging skills
• Comfort working within a collaborative, team-oriented fast-changing environment which fosters free-flowing creativity
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
• Motivated, dependable, and a responsible team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of networking and typical network protocols is a plus
